    We have volunteer opportunities available within our many programs: Peer Court and Teen Court: Volunteers needed with a legal background willing to mentor students for the roles of prosecuting and defense attorney; volunteers to oversee student jury deliberations as adult jury monitors (legal background not necessary). Action For Success (Dropout Prevention Program): mentors (spend time visiting the student at school for support, encouragement and a listening ear); tutors (Reading, Math, Organizational Skills); lunch buddies (spend time with a student during lunch or other designated timeslot). CIS Action for Success programs located at Cedar Grove, Leland, Shallotte, and South Brunswick Middle Schools. Adopt A School: Provide supplies and other donations to support special initiatives, basic needs, and recognition of student achievement (school supplies, basic needs, emergency needs, special events/student recognition, donations storage space). CIS Thrift Shops: Donate items at one of our four thrift shops (all donations directly support CIS programs); sort and price donated items; keep shops organized; utilize creativity in setup, sales displays etc., pickup donations – especially larger items. Shops are located in Boiling Spring Lakes, Leland, Southport, and Sunset Beach. CIS Main Office Volunteer: Assist with newsletter creation and design, photography, Development volunteer to pick up donations, running errands, help in office, database updates, help at Gala preparation and at event; help with resource development tasks (online research); general office assistance. Main CIS Office is located in Southport.
